The key to making this African Lace Beaded Necklace is to follow the instructions step by step.

 

Materials Needed:

 

                   Thread

 

                   Beading Needle

 

                   A Few Grams of size 11/0 seed beeds

Step 1:

 

To start, pick up one bead and go through it a couple of times to secure it to the end of your thread.

Then pick up 11 beads. Thread the tread back through the 7th bead from the end.

Step 2:

 

 Pick up for more beads and then thread your thread through the very first bead you picked up (To make a figure 8).

Step 3:

 

Thread 9 more beads and then thread up though the 7th bead from the end.

Step 4:

 

Now pick up 5 more and thread through the 6th bead up from where your thread comes out.

Step 5:

 

Then pick up 3 beads and go up through the 4th bead from your thread.

Step 6:

 

 

Thread 4 more beads and thread down through the 2nd of the 3 beads you added in the last step.

Step 7:

 

Pick up 4 more beads. Thread down through the 5th bead down from where your thread is coming out.

Now pick up 5 more beads and thread through the 6th bead down from your thread.

Step 9:

 

Thread 6 more beads and go back through the 4th bead from the end

 Step 10:

 

You will start to notice that except for the turns you add the same amount of beads than what you skip. Go ahead and tread 5 more beads and go up through the 6th bead from where your thread comes out.

 Step 11:

 

Pick up 5 more beads and thread up through the 6th bead up from from where your thread is coming out.

 Step 12:

 

Pick up 3 more beads and thread up through the 4th bead up from where your thread is.

Thread 4 more beads and go through the 2nd of the 3 beads you threaded in the last step.

Step 14:

 

Now pick up 4 more beads and thread down through the 5th bead from where your thread is coming out.

 Step 15:

 

Take 5 more beads and thread down through the 6th bead from where your thread is.

 Step 16:

 

Then pick 3 more beads and thread through the 3rd bead og the 5 you just threaded in the last step.

Once again pick up 5 beads and thread up through the 6th bead up from where your thread is.

 Step 18:

 

Now thread 3 beads up through the 4th bead up from your thread.

 Step 19:

 

Thread 4 more beads trough the 2nd of the 3 beads you just added in step 18.

 Step 20:

  

Add 4 beads and go down through the 5th bead down from where your thread comes out.

 Step 21:

 

Now take 5 more beads and thread up through the 2nd bead from the top of the 4 beads you just added in Step 20.

Pick up 3 more beads and go up through the 4th bead form where your thread comes out.

 Step 23:

 

Lastly pick up 4 beads and thread down through the 2nd of the 3 beads you just added in the previous step.

 That is all it takes to make the African Lace Beaded Necklace. All you do from here is repeat from step 2 to 23 over and over until the necklace is as big as you want it. For the start bead on step 2 use the bead marked with the white spot as if it were the bead you started with .
